Job Description

The Role:

To receive, prepare pick, load/despatch and replenish stock in the warehouse and record/monitor van stock and assets as instructed and in a professional, effective and cost effective way, always ensuring that Health and Safety is maintained at all times and the Warehouse is kept as a secure area.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

• Load & unload supplier, customer and company vehicles in a safe manner
• Maintain security of the warehouse area and stock by ensuring that access is controlled and no unauthorised person is allowed entry
• Allocate and re-allocate stock (insulation and cavity wall) to each installer daily and record accurate usage
• Prepare and pick solar, PV and other renewable fitting kits in preparation for loading to fitter vehicle recording serial numbers as instructed
• Record and inspect all incoming/outgoing materials ensuring that documents are properly completed and information including serial numbers is recorded accurately
• Ensure that products/materials are stored according to company procedures, with specific regard to protection of products, neatness and tidiness and clarity of organisation and method
• Monitor stock levels as instructed and initiate replenishment procedures at minimum stock levels or timed reorder points
• Complete relevant paperwork and maintain excellent records both paper and PC based
• Monitor and control the issue of tools and other assets to the installer, ensuring all equipment is signed for by the receiver
• Examine and report on the condition of installers vehicle, equipment, tools and stock held
• In conjunction with the SDM carry out stock takes (warehouse and vehicle) as required
• Operate Fork Lift Truck in accordance with training and safety regulations and with due care and attention
• Carry out daily checks to ensure the Fork Lift Truck is in good working order and report any defects to SCM
• Carry out weekly Health & Safety inspections on Ladders, Harness and other equipment as instructed by the SCM. Complete relevant paperwork and report any defects to SCM
• Carry out regular housekeeping checks and keep all work areas in a safe and clean condition which includes, but is not limited to; clearing away waste, emptying bins, sweeping floors, organising/stacking pallets and dusting surfaces
• Ensure that waste product / material is disposed off in an environmentally friendly way and in line with company procedures
• Ensure that all warehouse security measures are adhered to.
• Carry out deliveries as and when required
• At all times working to procedures and methods dictated by the consideration of safe storage of goods and safety to vehicle, driver, company equipment and all personnel.
• Flexible approach to working hours
• Ensure all associated administration duties are carried out in line with company procedures
• Ensure that a professional and courteous approach is adopted at all times
• Strictly adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and ensure that the working environment is practical for both yourself and others
• And any other reasonable duties commensurate with the post, which may be allocated from time to time.
 

Requirements

Specification Essential Desirable
Work Experience
e.g. previous experience required to do the job
Previous warehouse experience and delivery driver experience

Knowledge of stock control within warehouse environment

Practical experience using warehouse computer systems
Knowledge of the insulation industry.

Experience of different warehouse computer systems
Education & Qualification
e.g. academic or professional qualifications
Minimum of 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) level ‘C’ including English and Maths

Full and current UK driving licence

Counterbalance Fork lift truck licence (current)
NVQ in Warehousing or equivalent

Class ‘C1’ Licence

Health & Safety Qualification
Skills/Abilities
e.g. analytical skills, computer skills
Must be numerate & literate

Must have basic computer skills

Excellent communication skills
Experience of auditing and/or inventory control within warehouse environment
Personal Details
e.g. leadership, flexibility, teamworking
