Mark Group offers free home insulation to over 70s

National Energy efficiency company the Mark Group are encouraging senior citizens to warm to the benefits of insulation this winter by offering free installation of cavity and loft wall insulation to the over 70s.

Mark Group – who have distribution centres in England,Scotland and Wales and a headquarters in Leicester – is offering free loft or wall cavity insulation to anyone in England, Scotland and Wales aged over 70 who owns their own home. It’s a measure that the Government is set to bring in April this year under the new CERT* regulations – but rather than wait until Spring, Mark group are offering the warming benefits of insulation to pensioners here and now while the icy grip of winter still takes hold.

Recent studies by groups working with vulnerable groups such as senior citizens have shown how pensioners are still suffering in cold silence through the harsh winter months. A Help the Aged study revealed that around 2.5 million pensioners – 20% of all over 60s in the UK – spent the day in their front rooms to eat, watch TV and read because of fears over energy bills. The charity also claimed that millions of pounds put aside by the Government to help with fuel bills went unclaimed because of complicated application forms and means testing.
