Goals achieved at new stadium
Early in 2005 the Group were proud to be associated with the construction of the new Wembley Stadium for the Football Association.
Acting as sub-contractors to a fire protection specialist the Group were asked to insulate 6m high block walls between the below-ground coach unloading area and the adjoining accommodation suites.
Injection into the 200mm cavities was carried out through the inner leaf which was later plastered, leaving a fair faced finish on the outer leaf.
In order to conform with site requirements the vehicle injecting the material was only allowed to work from outside the incomplete structure. This meant that up to 120m of hose had to be used to reach the various filling points. Despite the difficult logistics and huge amount of fibre consumed a total of 358sq m was installed by fitter Tim Hall (44) and his assistant over the course of 2 days.
This prestige assignment will be something to be remembered when the stadium comes into regular use.
