Mark Group turn up the 'green' heat on rivals at Interbuild with launch of new carbon reducing boiler system
Wednesday 11 April 2007
Leicester based Mark Group UK’s leading ‘whole house’ energy efficiency experts will be looking to turn up the ‘green heat’ on their market rivals at this year’s Interbuild with the launch of a new carbon reducing boiler system.
The Ecodan heat pump boiler manufactured by environmental technology company Mitsubishi Electric will be the hot new exhibit at the centre of the Mark Group stand at Interbuild exhibition at Birmingham’s’ National Exhibition Centre at the end of October. Gathering over 70 per cent of the heat energy it needs from the surrounding air, The Ecodan system is significantly more efficient at providing heating and hot water than modern condensing gas boilers emitting 30 per cent less CO2 than the conventional system.
With the average UK household producing over 4 tonnes of CO2 per year and space and water accounting for 73 per cent of this the Ecodan boiler can make a significant contribution to reducing a home’s carbon emissions. Quieter and smaller than previous air source heat pump boilers and easy to install, requiring only an in/out water and single phase electrical connection, the system can also prove a major asset to developers and house builders looking to achieve Level 3* of the Code for Sustainable homes.
Bill Rumble, Mark Group Director, said: “The challenge in combating climate change is to reduce CO2 emissions from us at home caused by household energy use and our cars nearly 50% of all UK CO2 emissions.
The Ecodan system that Mark Group will be showcasing at Interbuild can help make a significant contribution in tackling household carbon emissions. All our products offer a
real and tangible way to minimise energy use in the home and are effective tools in tackling climate change.
Jason Tinsley, Technical and Product Marketing Manager for Mitsubishi Electric’s Heating Department, said: As a country we need to build at least 200,000 new homes a year . We estimate that by 2016,over 72,000 tonnes of CO2 could be saved each year if these new houses use heat pump technology to meet the hot water and space heating requirements rather than gas.
Mitsubishi Electric’s Ecodan boiler is another state-of-the-art addition to the Mark Group’s stable of green products, firmly establishing the Leicester based ‘whole house’ energy efficiency company as the leading home insulation installer and renewable energy specialists in the UK market.
The Mark Group has developed into the UK’s leading provider of domestic energy creation and saving solutions. It specialises in electricity generating photovoltaic panels and wind turbines, hot water provision from solar, heat pump technology and warmth and money saving loft and cavity wall insulation.
From 14 offices providing comprehensive national coverage, the Mark Group offers free, impartial advice on the most appropriate renewable energy technology to lower fuel costs and help save the environment. It’s highly trained technicians then put theory into practice by installing the most advanced products available to the consumer.
* Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes: Introduced in 2006 as part of a growing body of legislation aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, the Code sets national standards for the sustainable design and construction of homes
