Mark Group Wins £1.1m Council Insulation Contract

  • The HeatSeekers thermal imaging team will soon be surveying in Aberdeen, identifying poorly insulated properties.

Mark Group, the UK’s leading installer of domestic energy-saving solutions has been awarded a £1.1m competitive contract with Aberdeen City Council to install insulation measures into more then 8,000 homes.

Mark Group will work as a partner on the Aberdeen Universal Home Insulation Scheme (UHIS), which is being funded by Aberdeen City Council, Scottish Government and the private sector, to enable 8,000 residents to have their homes insulated for free this winter.

As an experienced installer of energy-saving solutions, Mark Group will fit loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, underfloor insulation for suspended floors, and draught proofing measures to both rented and privately-owned properties across the city.

Each property will be assessed through thermal imaging, using technology employed by Mark Group partner, HeatSeekers, helping homeowners to understand how they could benefit from improved insulation. And, if properties are already fully insulated, free energy-saving advice will be offered to help residents save even more money on their energy bills.

Andy MacPherson, Sales Director at Mark Group, said: “We work with local authorities throughout the UK to help launch schemes like this, which aim to make it as easy as possible for homeowners and tenants to become more energy-efficient. We are not only thrilled to be working with Aberdeen City Council on their UHIS project, but also commend them for supporting such a comprehensive scheme.”

The announcement builds on the success of other similar projects delivered by Mark Group elsewhere in the UK, including a £3.3m contract win last summer from Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council in South Wales.
