New Depot opened in Ashford, Kent
New insulation facilities for the South East area were officially opened this week by Ashford MP, Damian Green. The Mayor of Ashford, Cllr Malcolm Eke, also participated in the proceedings.

Largest Installer
Mr Green welcomed the UK’s largest domestic insulation installer, Mark Insulations Group, to Ashford. Mark, whose head office is in Leicester, has established a depot in the Stag Enterprise Park. “Insulation of buildings is now a national objective” said Mr Green “an objective which will add value to homes and greatly reduce fuel bills for householders, schools, hospitals and other premises”.

Subsidised Prices
The new premises will serve the highly subsidised energy efficiency schemes now available to householders in Kent. This includes a government inspired scheme, as part of an initiative being driven by British Gas, to help improve the environment and reduce fuel bills. Owner occupiers can obtain injected cavity wall insulation at a highly subsidised £145 (against a normal free market price of £600 for wall insulation). The insulation will be free to those receiving one of 16 different state benefits. Chris Hume, Mark Group Development Director comments: “We have come to Ashford to save a lot of people a lot of money. Energy efficiency is a good thing for everyone: it saves plenty of money, it stops ‘global warming’, it makes local air cleaner; and it is tax-free!”.

Manager – John Roriston
Depot Manager is John Roriston, supervising an initial 21 office and technical personnel recruited locally, and a fleet of nine trucks. John is a local resident living at Broadstairs. The depot comprises 4000 square feet of prestigious offices and warehouse space, housed in a new industrial unit designed internally by Mark. Services provided will include cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, timber frame insulation, and finance and grant advice. Additional qualified insulation technicians are now being sought, with progressive skills training available, particularly for cavity wall insulation, with extra administrative staff being needed shortly.
