Solid Growth for Mark Group Academy
Thursday 15 July 2010
After two years, one million pounds invested and one thousand trainees through its doors, energy-saving expert Mark Group has opened a new section of its training Academy.
The new ‘Solid Wall Insulation’ facility has been built to provide practical and technical training for new recruits, as well as refreshing the skills of seasoned installers, to support Mark Group as it strives to meets the insulation requirements of ‘hard to treat’ properties.
Mark Group Solid Wall Insulation specialist, David Sherlock, said: “Over the past 18 months we have seen our order books fill up with an increasing number of projects from social housing providers who have ‘hard to treat’ properties – that is, those which are not suitable for Cavity Wall Insulation. This presented a need for a dedicated training facility for Solid Wall Insulation.”
Through its new facility, Mark Group will provide training on all aspects of internal and external wall insulation. Internal Wall Insulation is often used on older, period properties and involves a complete internal refurbishment, whilst External Wall Insulation not only improves thermal efficiency but can regenerate a property, by refreshing its external appearance.
David continued: “We currently employ a number of multi-skilled installation teams in the Solid Wall Insulation part of the business, and through the new facilities at the Academy we will be looking at a healthy recruitment drive over the coming months.”
The Mark Group Academy was built in 2008 to provide a purpose-built training facility for installers starting or developing their careers in insulation and renewable technology. The Company has been insulating homes across the UK since 1974, and to date has made more than two million properties more energy efficient. For further information call 0800 616 302.
