Mark Group gets set to support Island Insulation Scheme on the Isle of Wight

Wednesday 16 December 2009

Energy efficiency firm Mark Group has opened a new distribution hub on the Isle of Wight with the creation of many new jobs for the island.

The UK’s largest insulation and energy efficiency group, Mark Group, opened their new depot on 7th December and is still looking to recruit throughout the next few months.

Experienced and trainee cavity wall and loft insulation technicians are all being sought to work out of the new distribution centre.

The 5000 square foot site in Newport will provide a distribution and operations base for Mark Group on the island, from which their army of green technicians will go out to meet the insulation needs of the island. Mark Group is working with E.ON and the Isle of Wight Council to provide free or discounted home insulation to owner occupied and private tenants on the Isle of Wight through the Island Insulation Scheme.

Mark Group has also been approved and is part of the Isle of Wight council’s trading standards ‘Buy with Confidence’ scheme. All firms in this scheme have been audited and checks carried out to ensure they provide reliable and quality service.

Mark Group is looking to employ further technicians by April 2010, with this month’s recruitment drive focused on the staff infrastructure to get the new site up and running.

Bill Rumble, Mark Group Director, said: “In the midst of the current economic climate where people are unfortunately losing their jobs, we are delighted to offer the opportunity to recruit new staff.

“Our new site on the Island is designed to meet the increased demand for insulation, which has come from the Isle of Wight’s Council vision to become an Eco-Island.”
